“The 100th: Seeds of Aloha” Screening

JULY 5, SUNDAY, 12:00 PM – 2:30 PM, FPC GRAND BALLROOM

The First Prez Vintage Ministry is hosting a free film test-screening of “The 100th: Seeds of Aloha,” a new documentary about the 100th Infantry Battalion and 442nd Regimental Combat Team — the WWII “Purple Heart Battalion” from Hawaiʻi.

As our nation marks 250 years of independence, this is a meaningful opportunity to remember a powerful part of Hawaiʻi’s story. The film honors the courage of Japanese American soldiers who helped liberate Italy, France, and Germany, becoming part of one of the most decorated units in U.S. military history. But this story is not only about war. It is also about aloha, sacrifice, resilience, and the rebuilding of a free world long after the war ended.

Hosting this screening creates space for our church and community to remember rightly, honor sacrifice, learn from the past, and reflect on what courage, healing, and aloha can look like in our own time.

Because this is a test screening, your comments and feedback are welcome and will help the filmmakers make the film as strong as it can be.

Come be among the first to see it!
