MARCH 29, FPC SANCTUARY, 9:30AM
Our Palm Sunday service will kick off Holy Week, commemorating Jesus Christ's triumphant entry into Jerusalem. According to the Gospels, crowds greeted Jesus by waving palm branches and laying them in His path as He rode into the city on a donkey, symbolizing humility and peace. This event fulfills a prophecy from the Old Testament and is significant in Christian tradition as it signifies the start of the events leading to Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection.
Palm Sunday Service
Tenebrae (Good Friday) Service
APRIL 3, FPC SANCTUARY, 6:30PM
The Tenebrae Service, which is a service of “darkness” or “shadows,” has been practiced by the Christian Church since the Middle Ages. During our time together, we will hear readings from Scripture that will guide us through the story of Christ’s betrayal, His arrest, His unjust trial, His death, and burial. The worship songs we sing will help us consider what Jesus has done for us. Brief reflections by people from our church will help us pause and wonder that the God who created the universe became a human being and gave His life that we might have everlasting life.
APRIL 5, FPC SANCTUARY, 8:30 AM AND 10:30 AM
There'll be songs, prayers, and an inspiring message of hope from Pastor Chris Pan. We will also have a full Koʻolau Kids program (3 months to 5th grade) ONLY during the 10:30AM service. For the 8:30AM Easter service, we encourage all keiki to worship with their family in the Sanctuary.
EVERYONE IS INVITED, SO TELL YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS! LET’S CELEBRATE THE RISEN JESUS TOGETHER!
Happening in person at Koʻolau and will be live-streamed here.
Easter Sunday Services
Golf Ball Eggs-Change (an Easter egg hunt)
APRIL 5, SUNDAY, FPC GROUNDS, 11:45 AM
After the last Easter Service, walk on over to the back of the Sanctuary building for our egg hunt. All keiki will be picking up different colored golf balls. And when the time is up, they’ll exchange those golf balls for candy and treats! Our Golf Ball Eggs-Change is open to kids of all ages, including middle schoolers and high schoolers. Super fun … so make sure you come!
If you’d like to help out, we could use donations of candy. Please bring them on Sundays, and drop them into the Easter bucket by the welcome table in the Sanctuary no later than April 3. Mahalo!
