Our Partner in Thailand
In 2001, First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu became a partner with Pentecostal Assemblies of Tribes (PAOT), a fellowship of tribal village churches (PAOT currently cooperates with 32 of these churches) with a base in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The main thrusts of PAOT are evangelizing and planting churches in non-Christian villages, encouraging tribal pastors, and training leaders. Beginning this year, it also boards students.

Prayer
We pray and pass along prayer requests for individuals and projects of PAOT. Requests are given to the Wednesday night prayer group and to the 24-hour prayer vigils.

Evangelism
We send First Presbyterian members to work with PAOT in unreached or under-reached villages. We teach Bible, introduce Jesus, pray for healings, tell of God’s love and power, and discuss hygiene and nutrition.

Financial Support
In 2004, we are giving $400 per month in undesignated funds, we have funded a dormitory, kitchen, and bath house for the new Lahu Bible school, sending two Lahu women to a conference in Manila, helping purchase a used truck, and paying tuition for intensive English study at HPU for the head pastor. Mentoring Our church members teach short term in the new Lahu Bible School, lead women’s conferences, and teach English. By developing relationships, we spot potential leaders and encourage them to attend Bible schools and conferences to discover and develop their spiritual gifts.

Interested?
We have an ongoing relationship with PAOT. Whatever your spiritual gift, you can be involved in this vital partnership. If you're interested in this ministry, call Elaine Masters at 926-0115.
