in our congregation and community with the talents
and skills of the members of our church. The ArkALMIGHTY.com

“I
tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the
least of
these brothers of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew
25:40)
What
is Helping Hands?
Helping Hands is a new way of caring for our congregation
in times of personal crisis or need. Our church is
growing! And, with this growth comes a need to expand
our ability to reach out and help others…we need
more helping hands!
How
does Helping Hands work?
A database of volunteers who sign up to be a Helping
Hand, will be maintained. They will be categorized by
location (zip codes) and the type of service they can
provide. When someone is in need and contacts the church,
a call for help will go out to those Helping Hands that
match this need. Those who can lend a helping hand at
that time can resond to the call and will be given instructions
on how they can best help.
Who
can be a Helping Hand?
Anyone affiliated with First Presbyterian Church of
Honolulu can be a Helping Hand. You can be a member,
a regular attender, or an occasional attender…as
long as you’re willing to lend a helping hand.
How
often must I lend a Helping Hand?
There is no set amount of times you must volunteer.
There may be times when there are more volunteers than
we can use. If this happens you may not be called upon
to help with that particular call.
Your
volunteer efforts will depend on how often a call for
help comes your way, the number of times you answer
the call, and if you are selected to lend a helping
hand.
It’s mostly up to you!!
