One of the purposes of our club is to support God's call to be compassionate and humble, to befriend the poor, to look after the widows and orphans; 1Peter 3:8; Proverbs 19:17; Proverbs 28:27; James 1:27; These are a few scriptures confirming this purpose. Please read them and others from time to time and know that God may be pleased with our efforts. Mission monies will be collected from each player before each round ($10) and the low net player will have the honor to designate the monies to the charities listed below in a percent allocation of his/her choice.

Missions Choices for Calendar Year 2006

common grace www.commongrace.org A 501 c (3) a local non-profit charitable organization focused on preventing a Columbine High School senseless shooting tragedy from occurring in Hawaii. common grace is a unique program facilitating relationships between local church volunteers and public schools. Adult volunteers are matched up with help from school principals to a child showing need for a positive adult relationship. Volunteers allocate an hour a week during a school year to use imaginative, fun and helpful involvement with these youngsters to build a stronger future for our wider community. Volunteers are provided training prior to being assigned to a student.

River of Life www.riveroflifemission.org This program provides balanced meals via direct meals and food boxes to supplement food requirements to homeless, elderly and low income families that have qualified for eligibility. Situations are evaluated quarterly by the director of Operations. Over 30,000 meals are averaged per month. Our donations will be used to help offset the rising costs for paper goods and for considerable wear and tear on their vehicles used to pick up and deliver food.

Windward Spouse Abuse Shelter, Inc A 501 c (3) a local non-profit charitable organization saving lives of women & children victimized by domestic violence. They provide emergency shelter, life skills, & support services in a safe & nurturing environment. Abuses include emergency room referrals having unrecognizable faces from being hit, burn marks, bite marks, broken legs and arms, punched out teeth, etc...This shelter was formed in 1991 after a woman was beaten to death the day after being denied access to a shelter because it was full.
