About Us

Shayna Kusumoto

Shayna has been serving the Lord through graphics and online communications at First Prez since 2001. She helps her husband, David, lead the Young Adults ministry.

What exactly do you do at First Prez?

I create most of the things the church puts out in print, on the web, via email and facebook. It’s a privilege to do what I do with these awesome friends and family, for the Lord.

What do you like most about your job?

I get to promote the ministries, programs and events that I wholeheartedly believe in. I would promote them to a dear friend as soon as I would promote it online or in the bulletin. Especially Young Adults Girls’ Night Out.

Tell us about your family (siblings, pets, kids, etc.)

Dave and I have 3 rambunctious kids: Evan (6), Cole (4) and Ari (2). We also have a canine offspring, Cuper (49).

What is your favorite comfort food?

My morning cereal

What is one of your pet peeves?

Newsletter submissions in all caps (LOL), forgetting my passwords, clogged drains

What’s the last book you read?

Gabriel’s Inferno, but just this morning, literally the last book I read was The Book of "Unnecessary" Quotation Marks: A Celebration of Creative Punctuation (best coffee table book ever!)

What is your favorite movie?

Best in Show

If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?

To fly and be omniscient

Which Hollywood film actor would play you in a movie of your life?

Jason Scott Lee…oops, did I just say that?

Rate yourself on a scale of 1 to 10 how weird you are.

9.10

What is your favorite Hawaii Restaurant you would recommend?

Kokua Market hot food bar & Umeke Market Deli

Stage

Azure and Alan Wong’s on King St.

What is your favorite place in Hawaii to get dessert?

JJ’s Bistro’s chocolate pyramid, Diamond Head Cove Bar’s Mana Bowl, Bubbies’ mochi ice cream, gee I guess there’s more than just one (or two). Not more than two, though. Oh wait! Yes, there’s also the honey toast at Shokudo, if you don’t subscribe to Atkins.
