MEN’S MINISTRY

The Men’s Ministry of First Prez aims to help men connect with God through weekly prayer times and Bible study, monthly dinners, and retreats, all within the context of community with other men.

MEN’S DINNER: "#METOO and the Christian Man’s Response"

May 29, Tuesday, 6PM, Fellowship Hall • guest speaker: Brian Fila

Jesus revolutionized how men regarded women in the first-century world. He deeply valued their service, testimony, witness, financial support, prayers, and fellowship. Yet, almost 2,000 years later, the #METOO movement reveals that modern society has yet to fully understand Jesus’ message.

Join us at this month’s MEN’S DINNER as Brian Fila talks about and leads a discussion on how Christian men are part of the solution to ending domestic violence, sexual harassment, and sexual assault. How can 21st-century men, as disciples of Jesus Christ, make a difference on this issue in the lives of our families, friends, neighbors, and co-workers?

DINNER COST: $10 (or $5 for those aged 18-24). Tickets available in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday mornings, or ONLINE HERE.

Guest speaker BRIAN FILA is a retired member of the U.S. Government Senior Executive Service and Captain in the U.S. Navy. He is a Partner in Leader Development Network Global (www.ldnglobal.com), a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming men and women into the trusted leaders God designed them to be. Brian lives in Kaneohe, HI with his wife Beth. They have two adult children and two grandchildren.

The Samson Society is a national organization and movement that promotes friendship, healing, and discipleship distinctively for men on their journey in life. Our one-hour weekly meetings are highly interactive, experiential, communal, real, and powerful. It will be a time of safe places, soul friendships, and confidential sharing.

If you need a boost in your journey with God, if you are tired of the endless attempts to break soul-draining habits, the feelings of isolation and loneliness, or if you simply desire to get real with other brothers, then join us for this new, exciting journey together.

We meet on Thursdays at 6 pm (sharp!) in the 4th/5th grade classroom downstairs at First Prez. Check us out when you get the chance. All men are welcome.
