The weeks leading up to the holidays can be tough when you’re divorced or grieving the loss of a loved one, but we can help. Come to a one-day video seminar designed to provide you with coping strategies and hope for the future.

 

Topics include:

  • How to deal with the many emotions you’ll face during the holidays
  • Helpful tips about traditions and other coming changes
  • Helpful tips for surviving social events

DivorceCare

New session: April 24 to July 17, Tuesdays, 6:30 PM, FPC

 

DivorceCare is a weekly seminar/support group that aims to help people heal from the hurt caused by divorce or separation. It’s a caring group led by people who understand what you are going through. During the first 30-40 minutes of the meeting, the group watches a video on divorce and recovery topics, followed by discussion as a support group.

GriefShare

New session starts Aug 19, Sundays, 11 am, Glass Classroom

GriefShare is a 13-week support group aimed at helping those who have lost loved ones cope with the challenges of grief. At each meeting, there will be a video teaching led by ministers, Christian counselors, and grief experts to help you deal with the pain of the passing of a family member or friend, help you recover from your loss, and rebuild your life.

“Read for Health” Outreach

Linapuni El

March 31, Sat, 8 am-1 pm, Linapuni Elem School

 

A Teacher’s Heart, an outreach of First Prez, will be hosting a Read for Health event on Saturday, March 31st at Linapuni Elementary School in Kalihi. Volunteers will spend time helping to provide the children and family in the community with information and resources on healthy living.

 

Even if you are unable to volunteer your time, please consider donating NEW toiletry items, especially children’s soaps, shampoos, toothbrushes, toothpastes etc.  Other toiletries, such as toilet paper, hand soap and liquid laundry detergent, are also highly desired. Please drop off donations with the Impact Team volunteers serving at the Compassion tables on Sunday mornings in the Fellowship Hall.

Parenting and Technology Class

How do parents cope with raising their kids in the digital age? How are they able to protect their kids and yet give them the freedom to create and explore? Come to the one-day Parenting and Technology Class and learn how to welcome technology into your home in ways that will make it have a positive impact on your family. Learn how to set boundaries for your kids and teens on screen time and technology.

The Marriage Course

March 7-April 25, Wednesdays, 6:15-8:30 pm, Fellowship Hall

 

The Marriage Course provides practical support in strengthening marriages. Over seven sessions, the course will help you to understand each other’s needs, communicate more effectively, and grow closer by learning methods to resolve conflict, recover from the ways you may have hurt each other, recognize how your upbringing affects your relationship, develop greater intimacy, and much, much more. 

 

The Marriage Course is based on Christian principles but is designed for all couples with or without a church background.
